You’re in control the whole way:

  • You choose the humour level (light / medium / savage)

  • You tell us what’s fair game (and what’s off-limits)

  • You give us the “love anchor” so it never turns mean

We’re here for playful roasting—not cruelty.

 

Please don’t include (and we won’t write):

  • hate speech, slurs, or harassment

  • threats, violence, or humiliation

  • explicit sexual content involving minors (or anything illegal)

  • content designed to defame, expose, or seriously harm someone

 

If something you submit crosses a line (or feels unsafe), we may tone it down, remove it, or decline the request—and we’ll aim to keep the song fun, respectful, and giftable.

By placing an order, you confirm that:

  • the recipient is someone you have a genuine relationship with, and

  • you reasonably believe they’ll enjoy this style of humour, and

  • you’ve provided clear boundaries in the “off-limits” section.

Indemnity (your responsibility for what you submit)

By submitting content for a “Personalised Dark Package" song, you agree that you are solely responsible for the information, stories, names, and instructions you provide to Write My Song (“we”, “us”, “our”).

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Write My Song and its owners, contractors, and representatives from and against any claims, demands, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:

  • the content you submit (including allegations of defamation, privacy breach, or misuse of someone’s name/likeness);

  • your instructions to include jokes, “roasts”, or personal details about any person;

  • any dispute between you and the recipient (or any third party) relating to the song, its message, or how it’s used or shared; and

  • your breach of these terms or any applicable law.

This indemnity includes claims brought by the recipient or any third party, whether the song is shared privately or publicly, and continues to apply after delivery of the song.

Right to refuse / edit for safety

​

We reserve the right to refuse, edit, or soften any request that we believe is unsafe, unlawful, or likely to cause genuine harm—without needing to justify the decision.
